““Best Ever workshops I have ever attended”
Can’t believe the positive remarks that are resulting from your tutoring of my photos I previously did not how to take
Thank you again and please include me in any other workshops Claire”
“Claire is a knowledgeable and patient teacher who guided me through camera menus I didn’t even know existed. Thanks to her, I now have the confidence to move beyond auto mode and explore the creative possibilities of manual settings. It’s also motivated me to pick up my camera more often. It was SUCH a great day. ”
Workshops
I run workshops for all ages and specialise in working alongside anyone who wants to move from taking snapshots in “Auto” mode, to working fully in manual mode where you can introduce your own style and creativity into your photography.
Workshops range from a programme of weekly ‘lessons’, or day workshops looking at specific areas of photography, to 2 days “immersion” (usually over a weekend).
Workshops will be posted on this page, and in social media - or just give me a call and see what we can organise.
What’s included in the workshops:
Understanding the basics
Working in “semi-auto’ modes
Working fully in manual
Composition
Working with Light & Shade
Subjects covered:
Landscape Photography
Photographing horses (to include movement)
A Cottage Garden
Photographing interiors
TAILORED WORKSHOPS
Ideal if you want to work on a particular aspect of your photography, and would love some one to one time.
What’s the cost? I like to run workshops at a really affordable price so we can all get creative! I limit workshops to between 4 and 8 participants (dependant on the workshop). The costs vary for each workshop and depend on the length of the workshop and if there are any ‘extras’ included (for example Landscape Photography at the Hokianga includes a privately chartered ferry). However, I strive to keep the costs as affordable as possible and generally there is an Early Bird special price. If you enquire for the workshop you are interested in, I can let you know the current pricing.

Working with studio lighting. A great workshop for winter when we don’t have to worry about what the weather is doing. Learn the basics of working with studio lighting to create both ‘natural’ looking and creative lighting to evoke a mood or feeling.
PAST WORKSHOPS
A Cottage Garden - learning how to apply aperture settings when photographing our beautiful flora & fauna.
Historic Buildings - photographing in a way that is appropriate to the building.

All of our workshops are hands-on, so we’ll start with a coffee, chat about what we’re going to achieve and then go out and shoot!
